Description
Chateau l?Avocat?s vineyard location, just a few hundred yards from the Garonne River are in a perfect spot for their grapes to catch the morning mist that will infect the grapes and allow ?boytrytis? to flourish, creating a lush wine of great sweetness. Prior to World War II Chateau L'Avocat was recognised as one of the top properties in the southern Graves. The property enjoyed considerable success as evidenced by its winning of Gold medals in the prestigious Concours Agricole Paris in 1932 and 1934 and a Diplome d'honneur Exposition Internationale Anvers 1930. The property changed hands post war and as the family interest in actively managing the property waned it was evenutally signed over to 'fermage' or long-term lease and wine sold unbranded to Baron Philippe de Rothschild S.A   An incredibly affordable sticky from the tiny appellation of Cerons, in the Graves region of Bordeaux. The 2010 vintage was spectacular for white wine--demonstrated in this complex, layered and very pretty wine. Lighter, not as heavy with botrytis as most Sauternes, but that works in its favor with savory p?t? and foie gras mousse. A great value. Very Good.
