2014 Kokomo Ruth's Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml)

This 100 acre vineyard, owned by Timber Crest Farms and named for Ruth Waltenspiel, is located in Alexander Valley and shares the western bank of the Russian River.  Grower, Randy Peters, planted clones 2, 7 & 337 in this vineyard.  The 30 year old vines grow in Cortina soil, a gravely sandy loam, which forces the vines to work hard for water creating small berries and intense flavors.

  The 2014 Cabernet is a beautiful mix of brightness and depth right from the beginning with tantalizing aromas of Boysenberry and layers of earthy Eucalyptus. Flavors of Boysenberry and pomegranate are interwoven with subtle notes of black currant. Velvety tannins and juicy acidity make for a luscious mouthfeel that gives way to a pleasantly lingering finish of cassis and coffee.
